A disturbance at Crunch Fitness in Amarillo, Texas, escalated into an arrest on Saturday when a member’s altercation with another gym-goer resulted in the revocation of his membership. Despite being instructed to leave, the individual refused, leading to a confrontation with law enforcement.
Police were summoned to Crunch Fitness on Georgia Street following reports of a disturbance on Saturday. According to accounts provided to officers, a member had allegedly assaulted another member on the preceding Friday. Consequently, the assailant was directed to vacate the premises, with his membership subsequently revoked.
Undeterred, the member returned to the gym on Saturday and disregarded staff instructions to depart, opting instead to proceed with his workout regimen. When officers arrived and attempted to intervene, the individual persisted in his refusal to comply, resorting to using weights in an attempt to obstruct law enforcement.
Despite the officer managing to disarm the individual of the weights, the situation intensified as the member assumed a combative stance. In response, the officer resorted to deploying a taser to subdue the aggressor. With the assistance of fellow gym attendees, law enforcement successfully restrained and apprehended the individual, ensuring medical clearance at the scene following the incident.
