The Times has unveiled its first-ever ranking of the wealthiest figures in the UK’s £27 billion beauty industry, with Charlotte Tilbury securing the top spot. The renowned makeup artist and entrepreneur is estimated to have amassed a fortune of £350 million.
In second place are Mark and Mo Constantine, the husband-and-wife duo behind the iconic cosmetics brand Lush, with an estimated net worth of £249 million. Sanjay Vadera, the founder of The Fragrance Shop, takes third place with a wealth of £240 million.
Among other notable names on the list are John Frieda, who ranks fourth; Paige Williams, the founder of the popular beauty brand P.Louise, who claims the sixth spot; Trinny Woodall, the face behind Trinny London, in twelfth place; and Nicola Elliott, founder of the wellness brand Neom, at number 22. Other household names appearing in the top 25 include fragrance mogul Jo Malone and Freddy Ward, co-founder of the sustainable beauty brand Wild, who share 25th place.
Phoebe McDowell, Beauty and Interiors Director at The Sunday Times, commented on the industry’s growing influence, stating, “Beauty is big business, and this inaugural list showcases the significant impact of creativity and innovation in the sector. These entrepreneurs have not only built successful brands but have also reshaped the way we think about hair care, skincare, and cosmetics.”
