Sukyung Bae, Chairman of AMOREPACIFIC Group, is set to meet with Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft, on March 25 to explore potential collaboration opportunities between artificial intelligence (AI) and the K-beauty industry, industry sources confirmed today.
This meeting, which will take place in Seoul, marks the first private discussion between Nadella, who has led Microsoft since 2014, and a representative from the K-beauty sector. The two leaders are expected to focus on integrating Microsoft’s AI capabilities with AMOREPACIFIC’s operations to enhance personalized services for consumers.
Chairman Bae is likely to discuss the application of Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI (AOAI) in AMOREPACIFIC’s business model. AOAI, powered by OpenAI’s generative AI technology, allows companies to leverage Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform for advanced AI solutions. The discussion is anticipated to center around using AI to create more tailored customer experiences, which could revolutionize the way AMOREPACIFIC interacts with its consumers.
AMOREPACIFIC is also pushing forward with AI technology commercialization through its beauty device brand, Makeon, as part of its ongoing efforts to innovate in the beauty industry. By incorporating AOAI with its customer data, the company aims to offer highly customized beauty solutions, marking a significant step in the fusion of AI and the K-beauty sector.
The meeting reflects the growing importance of AI in various industries, with K-beauty firms increasingly looking to technology as a tool to enhance customer experiences and streamline their operations.
