In a significant development for community safety and youth education, Revo Fitness has entered into a landmark partnership with Surf Life Saving South Australia (SLSSA), securing naming rights for the Nippers program and becoming the presenting partner of the Junior State Championships for the next three years.
Set to launch in July 2025, the ‘Revo Nippers’ initiative will see the gym chain contribute nearly $500,000 over the next three years. The partnership aims to support SLSSA’s efforts in developing the next generation of surf lifesavers and enhancing beach safety across the state.
With a membership base nearing 9,000, SLSSA plays a crucial role in emergency response and surf safety education. The Nippers program, which teaches children aged 5 to 13 vital beach safety skills, will benefit from the new partnership. The funding will help support approximately 3,000 current participants across 22 surf lifesaving clubs in South Australia, and provide essential new equipment such as nipper boards, club marquees, and water safety clothing.
SLSSA Chief Executive, Damien Marangon, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, calling it a vital step in ensuring the future of beach safety in South Australia. “This partnership with Revo Fitness represents a significant investment in the future of surf lifesaving. The Nippers program has long been instrumental in teaching young Australians essential beach safety and fostering community spirit. With Revo’s support, we can expand our resources and continue to grow the program,” Marangon said.
He also highlighted the alignment between Revo Fitness and SLSSA’s shared values of community engagement and safety, emphasizing their commitment to a goal of zero preventable deaths in South Australian waters. “Together, we are creating a safer, healthier future for our communities,” he added.
Revo Fitness Founder and Managing Director, Andrew Holder, explained that the partnership was a natural fit given the shared values of both organizations. “At Revo, we are committed to making fitness accessible, inclusive, and safe for everyone. SLSSA shares this vision, but at the beach and in the water. ‘Revo Nippers’ is more than just a partnership—it’s a real commitment to our community and to creating lasting social impact.”
Holder, a father himself, also stressed the importance of water safety education, noting, “As a dad, I know firsthand how critical it is to teach our kids essential water safety skills. The Nippers program plays an important role in that mission.”
The Revo Nippers program will officially launch in the 2025-26 season, beginning in October 2025, and is expected to further strengthen the connection between Revo Fitness, SLSSA, and the South Australian community. Through this partnership, both organizations are dedicated to ensuring that future generations of children have access to high-quality surf safety education and training.
