Jacquemus has officially entered the beauty industry, signing a long-term, exclusive partnership with L’Oréal Groupe. As part of the deal, L’Oréal has also made an investment in the luxury fashion label, supporting its continued independent growth.
Founded in 2009 by Simon Porte Jacquemus, the brand has quickly become a favorite among fashion enthusiasts, known for its playful, yet stylish designs, including the iconic Chiquito bag, and innovative runway shows. The French fashion house has captivated audiences with its viral fashion presentations, often set in picturesque fields of lavender or wheat, cementing its place in the fashion spotlight.
Yet, beauty has always been part of Jacquemus’ vision. “Perfume and beauty have always been part of my vision for the brand,” said Jacquemus. The designer’s interest in expanding into the beauty sector has long been a goal, and his plans began to take shape in 2021 when the brand sought a partnership with Puig. However, that venture was short-lived, with Jacquemus later repurchasing Puig’s 10% stake in the company.
In October 2024, Jacquemus took the next step in its expansion by retaining Rothschild & Co. to find a minority investor to fuel the brand’s growth in the U.S., Europe, and Asia, while also funding its beauty division. This move came at a time when the luxury sector was facing challenges, which were expected to impact Jacquemus’ revenue for the year.
Now, in 2025, the brand has reached a milestone with the announcement of its exclusive partnership with L’Oréal. Cyril Chapuy, President of L’Oréal Luxe, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration: “We are thrilled to welcome Jacquemus and unleash together its outstanding luxury beauty potential. With its singular brand positioning, fueled by sensational creativity and social-first playfulness, Jacquemus will perfectly complement L’Oréal Luxe’s portfolio of iconic brands and reinforce our worldwide leadership.”
Simon Porte Jacquemus, President, Founder, and Creative Director of Jacquemus, reflected on the significance of this partnership: “Fifteen years ago, I began dreaming of and creating Jacquemus, with perfume and beauty always part of my vision for the brand. Today, I am proud to continue shaping this dream with the leading beauty group, L’Oréal. I’m excited to see what the future holds for us.”
This exclusive collaboration marks a significant moment in Jacquemus’ journey, as it extends its creative influence from the world of fashion to the beauty industry.
