PNG Fashion Week is taking a major step in empowering the nation’s youth by offering free fitness training sessions throughout February 2025. This initiative is designed to support aspiring models preparing for upcoming auditions and is also open to anyone in the community interested in improving their health and fitness.
Philma Kelegai, Founder and Managing Director of PNG Fashion Week, emphasized the broader mission behind the program. “Through this initiative, we are providing more than just fitness sessions—we’re building a supportive community and encouraging a culture of well-being,” she said.
The fitness training will be led by renowned local trainer Eldon Toti. Sessions will take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Sir John Guise Track Field. The program is designed to cater to all levels of fitness, ensuring everyone has an opportunity to participate, regardless of experience or ability.
PNG Fashion Week has long been committed to fostering opportunities for youth development, and this initiative is another example of its dedication to supporting the next generation. The goal is to help young people enhance their physical health, boost their self-confidence, and create connections with others who share similar goals.
“We believe in the power of our youth and are excited to contribute positively to their lives, both inside and outside the fashion world,” Kelegai stated.
The free fitness training sessions will be available for the entire month of February 2025. PNG Fashion Week encourages all members of the community—regardless of age or fitness level—to take part in this exciting opportunity to improve their health, make new connections, and embrace an active lifestyle.
This initiative represents not just an opportunity for physical fitness, but also a chance for the community to come together in support of a healthy, thriving future for Papua New Guinea’s youth.
