The administration in Rajouri has declared the village of Badhal a containment zone following the deaths of 17 residents from three families under mysterious circumstances. The fatalities have raised alarm among local authorities, prompting the implementation of stringent measures aimed at preventing further casualties.
The containment strategy divides the affected area into three zones to allow for targeted interventions.
Zone 1: The first zone includes the houses where the deaths occurred. These homes have been sealed, and access is strictly restricted to authorized personnel only.
Zone 2: The second zone covers families who were in close contact with the deceased. These individuals have been relocated to the Government Medical College (GMC) in Rajouri, where they are being closely monitored by healthcare professionals.
Zone 3: The third zone encompasses the remainder of Badhal village. Authorities are monitoring food distribution and consumption within this zone to prevent any potential contamination.
To ensure compliance with these measures, police personnel have been stationed throughout the village. Officers are maintaining detailed records of food distribution and consumption, with logbooks being signed three times daily to ensure accountability.
In addition, all public and private gatherings have been banned in the village as a precautionary measure to limit the risk of further transmission or contamination.
The administration has tasked designated officials with overseeing food safety protocols and health surveillance for the affected families and other residents of the village.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been deployed to investigate the cause of these mysterious deaths. Authorities are urging residents to cooperate fully with the containment measures as they work to protect the community. The situation remains under close monitoring, and additional updates are expected as the investigation unfolds.
