A recent survey of 2,000 adults has uncovered that 40% of Brits are opting for unconventional fitness routines over traditional exercise methods. From trampoline fitness and bubble football to paddleboarding with dogs, these unique activities are gaining popularity. Interestingly, 12% are keen to try hula-hoop-based fitness classes.
While cardio and strength training remain popular (32% and 25% respectively), a significant 26% find their current workout routines uninspiring. Many cite music (36%) and exercising with friends (28%) as key factors that enhance enjoyment. Morning workouts are preferred by 45% of respondents, contrasting with 19% favoring evenings.
The survey, commissioned by Foxy Bingo, highlights a growing preference for fun and varied physical activities beyond gym routines. Sara Jolly noted, “People seek unconventional exercise to stay motivated and make fitness enjoyable.” Foxy Bingo’s new ‘Xtreme Line Dancing Studio’ in Birmingham reflects this trend, combining line dancing with circuits for energizing workouts.
Excitement surrounds these unique fitness options, with activities like bungee fitness and Parkour capturing imaginations. The findings underscore a broader shift towards dynamic and entertaining fitness solutions across the UK.
