Christina Applegate, at 52, has a few aspirations she hopes to fulfill “with the days I have left in life,” balancing both lighthearted and meaningful goals.
In a recent post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Applegate expressed, “There are things I want to do with the days I have left in life. I want to work with Shirley MacLaine and do shots with Cher! And yes, my days are so big. Just saying.”
Although MacLaine just turned 90, she shows no signs of slowing down. The legendary actress is set to begin filming a new movie, People Not Places, in Atlantic City this year and is releasing her new book, The Wall of Life, on October 22, featuring photos from her illustrious career.
While Applegate dreams of sharing shots with Cher, the pop icon has yet to respond, despite fans tagging her in the post.
This candid revelation from the Married with Children star comes as she continues to battle multiple sclerosis, a condition she was diagnosed with in 2021. This isn’t Applegate’s first health challenge. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008, leading to a double mastectomy, and later had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed in 2017 due to carrying the BRCA1 gene mutation, which increases cancer risk.
Applegate has been open about her health journey on MeSsy, a podcast she co-hosts with Sopranos alum Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who also has MS, diagnosed in 2020.
Multiple sclerosis, as described by Verywell Health, “is a chronic disease, but it’s almost never a fatal one,” thanks to significant treatment advancements. However, it comes with debilitating symptoms such as pain, vertigo, short-term memory issues, and fatigue.
Despite the challenges, Applegate remains determined. As a mother to 13-year-old daughter Sadie, with husband Martyn LeNoble, she shared with PEOPLE, “I know I’ll live a long enough life to experience my kid and the things she’s going to do. And I need to be here, so I’ve got to fight.”
