Lancashire Police have made three further arrests in the investigation of the suspected murder of Lenny Scott, a 33-year-old father of three, who was fatally shot outside a gym in Skelmersdale, Lancashire, on February 8th.
Authorities announced that two men, aged 28 and 34, were apprehended on suspicion of murder. Additionally, a 29-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of assisting an offender. This brings the total number of arrests in connection with Mr. Scott’s death to eight.
The two men taken into custody had been previously arrested as part of the ongoing investigation, according to police statements. All three suspects, including the woman, are residents of Liverpool.
Earlier in March, a 30-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder. Alongside him, three men and a woman were also previously detained on suspicion of murder. Two other men, aged 25 and 34, were also arrested on suspicion of murder. All individuals arrested prior to this latest development have been released on bail.
Lancashire Police have described Mr. Scott’s killing as an “abhorrent assassination.” The assailant reportedly escaped the scene on an e-bike, traveling towards Digmoor in Skelmersdale before heading to Upholland.
The investigation remains active as police continue to seek justice for Lenny Scott and his family.
