AMARILLO, Texas — A man was tased by a police officer at an Amarillo gym after allegedly assaulting another member the previous day, according to video footage obtained by WFAA.
Local artist and gym member Jrew Retro captured the incident on cell phone video. Retro reported that the altercation occurred on May 11, following an alleged assault by the man on another gym member the day before. The man had been instructed not to return to the gym but defied the order by coming back on Saturday, May 11.
When the man re-entered the gym, police were summoned. The video shows the police officer engaging with the man, who then adopts a fighting stance and gestures aggressively towards the officer. In response, the officer deployed a taser, causing the man to fall to the ground.
