In a significant step towards advancing the integration of food and medicine in patient care and medical research, Wolters Kluwer Health, in partnership with the International Food Information Service (IFIS Publishing), has unveiled Ovid Nutrition and Health (Ovid NutriHealth), an exclusive interdisciplinary health research database.

Rafael Sidi, Senior Vice President & General Manager of Health Research at Wolters Kluwer Health, emphasized the importance of verified, evidence-based nutritional medicine information in addressing food-related health disparities. The collaboration between Wolters Kluwer and IFIS Publishing marks a significant milestone in their longstanding partnership.

Ovid NutriHealth boasts a comprehensive repository of over 500,000 records from publishers across 89 countries and 41 languages, making it one of the largest resources in the field of food and health sciences. Covering diverse research areas such as medical nutrition, nutrition therapy, pharmacology, public health, and policy, the database aims to support the growing trend towards utilizing food as medicine.

With nearly 17,000 indices facilitating seamless navigation of research topics, Ovid NutriHealth offers a user-friendly interface for researchers. The platform has undergone rigorous screening to ensure the exclusion of predatory content, providing reliable insights into critical topics like obesity, diabetes, metabolic disorders, allergies, immunology, mental health, and cognition.

Drawing on over 60 years of experience, IFIS Publishing brings scientific excellence and trust to Ovid NutriHealth. Katy Askew, Managing Director of IFIS Publishing, expressed the hope that the database would bridge knowledge gaps in medical education, facilitating accessibility to essential information for healthcare professionals and researchers.

Wolters Kluwer, a global leader in information and software solutions, reported annual revenues of €5.6 billion in 2023.
