Health Official Issues Warning Regarding COVID-19 in Cornwall

by Holly

A health official in Cornwall has issued a cautionary message to the public as reports of COVID-19 cases show signs of increasing.

Dr. Ruth Goldstein, the Assistant Director of Public Health at Cornwall Council, mentioned that specific figures were not available due to the absence of official testing currently underway.

However, she emphasized that “it seems like everyone knows someone with COVID-like symptoms.”

Dr. Goldstein highlighted a series of straightforward actions that individuals could take to minimize their risk of falling ill.

“If you experience symptoms such as a cough, cold, high temperature, or a headache – any of these symptoms – it’s important not to venture out,” she advised.

“Please stay at home and focus on recovering. Staying warm, staying dry, resting will help you recover much faster compared to attempting to continue with your usual activities or going out and about.”

Dr. Goldstein discouraged attending crowded places and urged people to practice thorough and regular handwashing, along with considering the use of face masks.
