A new study led by researchers from TruDiagnostic has found promising results for a natural supplement called the Cel System in slowing the aging process. The one-year clinical trial, involving adults aged 54 to 84, showed that participants who took the supplement experienced a reduction in biological age, improved physical strength, better body composition, and changes in DNA methylation linked to stress and brain function. While the study lacked a control group, the results highlight the potential of lifestyle-based supplements in promoting healthy aging.
The Cel System and Its Ingredients
The Cel System is a supplement made from a combination of plant compounds, vitamins, and antioxidants. Designed to target the biological mechanisms of aging, the supplement was tested over a year with 51 adults, including 26 men and 25 women. The participants’ biological age was tracked using DNA-based tests known as epigenetic clocks, alongside physical performance and body composition metrics. The study also encouraged participants to walk for 10 minutes and practice mindfulness for five minutes each day.
Health Improvements and Aging Benefits
The results showed that participants who used the Cel System experienced significant improvements in grip strength, mobility, and reductions in body weight, waist circumference, and body mass index. These physical gains were accompanied by slower biological aging, as measured by multiple epigenetic clocks. The supplement appeared to reduce stem cell turnover, a key marker of aging at the cellular level.
The study also observed changes in immune cell composition, suggesting the supplement might help regulate immune function as people age. Additionally, biomarkers associated with liver function improved, indicating potential benefits for organ health. However, inflammation markers did not show significant changes.
Impact on DNA and Brain Function
The researchers found that the supplement influenced DNA methylation, a process that affects gene activity related to stress response, brain function, and cell communication. These molecular-level changes could explain the broader physical and biological benefits observed in the study.
Looking Ahead: Further Research Needed
Although this was a pilot study without a control group, the findings suggest that the Cel System could help reduce signs of aging and improve overall health. The researchers recommend further randomized controlled trials with larger sample sizes to confirm these results and explore the supplement’s long-term effects on longevity.
