Clevedon-based organic skincare brand The Purist has secured multiple prestigious awards at the 2025 Beauty Shortlist Awards, marking a major milestone for the company. Founded by Melissa Fenton, who battled cancer and dealt with the effects of chemotherapy and menopause, the brand has gained recognition for its natural, high-quality products.
Six of The Purist’s skincare offerings received top honors, underscoring the brand’s commitment to organic, effective solutions:
Best Cleansing Oil Award – The Purist Organic Calendula & Chamomile Facial Cleansing Oil
Best Massage Oil Award – The Purist Organic Revitalise Supreme Body and Massage Oil
Editor’s Choice Award – The Purist Organic Supreme Night Serum
Women’s Products Awards – Commended – The Purist Supreme Night Serum and The Purist Organic The Body Scrub
Men’s Products Awards – Commended – The Purist Groom Skin Serum
In addition to the awards, The Purist’s products have earned high ratings of ‘excellent’ or ‘good’ on the Yuka app, which assesses the health impact of personal care products.
Fenton, who founded the brand after her personal struggles with skin issues worsened by cancer treatments and menopause, was determined to create skincare that was both pure and effective. “Shocked by the synthetic ingredients in many mainstream products, I began crafting my own skincare blends using only pure, organic plant oils,” she said.
What began as a personal necessity soon evolved into a passion project. Fenton expressed pride in The Purist’s growth, stating, “To have our small-batch, organic products stand alongside, and even surpass, major industry names is truly humbling. I’ve always aimed to provide skincare that people can trust, and I’m thrilled by the recognition from both consumers and industry experts.”
The Purist’s success at the 2025 Beauty Shortlist Awards reflects a growing trend towards natural and organic beauty products, as more consumers seek alternatives to synthetic skincare solutions.
