Rebel Wilson has shared surprising insights into her weight loss journey after shedding 35kg during her self-declared ‘Year of Health‘ in 2020.
The 43-year-old actress, while promoting her new dating app Fluid in Beverly Hills, told the Daily Mail that people “don’t really need as many calories as you think.”
“Everyone thinks that you need to eat so much and your body needs it but the truth is your body doesn’t need a lot of calories… if you eat right and you eat small portions you’ll be just fine,” Rebel said. “I learned that you really only need about 600 calories a day, you don’t need 1,500 or 2,000,” she added.
During her weight loss journey, Rebel worked with Aussie trainer Jono Castano, who emphasized the importance of consistency. “If you’re consistent and you’re getting amazing results, then it’s just going to continue to show… it’s also going to help in bringing out the best in you,” he told Yahoo Lifestyle.
Jono also shared a simple but effective tip with his clients: “Eat to be satisfied, not to be full. When you know you’re satisfied, stop there and then give it two hours and then eat again. Rather than just eating large meals where you’re just going to feel tired.”
