Why it Matters: Club Cardio & Fitness Bar has rapidly become one of North Carolina’s most sought-after exercise classes. The Raleigh-based gym’s in-person sessions sell out within hours, and its pop-up events in cities like Charlotte, Orlando, Atlanta, and Houston are equally popular.
Background: The gym’s rise to fame can be attributed to its viral social media presence. A video posted by Club Cardio caught the attention of singer Ciara, leading to the gym being featured in one of her music videos. This exposure, combined with the popularity of their virtual classes during the pandemic, has significantly increased local interest.
What to Expect: Club Cardio, which opened in late 2019, offers a range of fitness classes beyond step aerobics. These include high-intensity boot camps, personal training sessions, and a glutes and abs camp. All classes are set to energetic hip-hop and occasionally R&B music.
The “Just Step” class is particularly popular. This hour-long beginner step aerobics session teaches participants a variety of moves and choreography to songs that last up to five minutes.
How to Join: To attend an in-person class, which starts at $10, check the schedule and register in advance. For those interested in pop-up classes, the schedule is available in the gym’s Instagram bio.
Virtual packages are also available for $10, allowing access to five online classes per month.
Location: Visit Club Cardio’s Raleigh studio at 3533 Maitland Dr. Alternatively, join a monthly pop-up class in north Charlotte at 3716 W W.T. Harris Blvd.
